Adult Day Program: “Options” Learning Center

“Options” Learning Center was State licensed in 2003 and is an Adult Day Program designed to improve the lives of the developmentally disabled. Consumers are referred to “Options” by Valley Mountain Regional Center. “Options” Learning Center is located at SFNC’s headquarters.

“Options” consists of nine different components all used to encourage educational opportunities, socialization, building better relationships, and building self-esteem. Unlike other adult day programs, “Options” allows consumers to have a flexible schedule, designed more like a college program. “Options” allows them the freedom to choose their own schedule and caters to the higher functioning consumer. The nine components are as follows:

  • Music Therapy
  • Art Therapy
  • Physical Fitness Training
  • A Computer Lab
  • Reading and Math Lab
  • Activities/Social
  • Nutrition/Cooking Activities
  • Community Integration
  • Pre-Employment Program

As of 2015, “Options” Learning Center has added a new service component called the “Pre-Employment Training.” This service focuses on the individual needs of consumers, assisting them with developing or maintaining employment skills. The skill training includes resume creation, proper dress for interviews, interviewing skills, follow-up, attendance and punctuality, and proper completion of an application.
