Social Security Ticket To Work Program

In June of 2004, the Social Security Administration named Service First of Northern California the Employment Network for their Ticket to Work. This program is aimed at job development as well as job placement for Social Security beneficiaries. Clients will be assisted in maintaining their Social Security benefits while being gainfully employed. Additionally, the employer receives a tax credit and the program is designed to maintain client independence.

This is a national program and Service First of Northern California is one of the leaders in the nation for actual job placements. Since 2005, Pat Ehlers has made our EN one of the most successful in the United States. Pat has been the Director of our Ticket to Work program for almost fifteen years until she retired in the earlier part of 2019. Many of the success stories were told by the ticket holders who she helped placed into a job.

Alyssa Hawkins, now the Director of our Ticket to Work program will be working at both Stockton and Modesto Ticket to Work Offices. In her four years working for Ticket to Work, Alyssa has helped clients with job accommodation as well as on-going employment support. Service First Ticket to Work program has provided our first-time working beneficiaries job opportunities to gain work experiences. We also helped beneficiaries returning to work to test their skills and abilities in resuming the career they left behind or pursuing a new one.

Over the years, Service First has developed a large base of employer relationships who continually find positions for our beneficiaries. The Service First Ticket to Work program is a win-win situation for our beneficiaries and employers.
